I’m Dreaming of a Raw Christmas
by Janet E. Schultz © 2008
(*From a wise older dog singing to her young puppy friends)
I’m dreaming of a raw Christmas,
Just like ones I’ve come to know.
Where the green tripe glistens, and puppies listen,
To hear, “It’s time to eat some goat!”
I’m dreaming of a raw Christmas,
With every turkey wing I bite,
May your liver juices be bright…
And may all your bone marrow be white…
Yes, I’m dreaming of a raw Christmas,
Just like the ones in days of old.
Before kibble makers, and biscuit bakers,
Left our nutrition, in the cold.
I’m dreaming of a raw Christmas,
With every mutton leg I gnaw,
May a beef shank fill you with awe…
And may all your Christmases be raw...
May a beef shank, fill you…with AWE!…
And, may all, your, Christmases...be raw…
